Hannah Bruce is currently a Regional Business Manager for Landcorp Farming Ltd based in Taupo. She looks after 7 sheep beef and deer farms across the Central North Island. Hannah always knew she wanted to be a part of the primary industries from when she was a kid. Both of her grandparents had farms and she loved getting out to their land over the holidays.
Hannah went to Uni at Massey to study Vet Science and ended up studying Agriculture. Firstly through a Bachelor of AgriCommerce followed by an Honours in AgriScience. She was fortunate to secure her first role out of uni with Landcorp based in the Development team on the Wairakei Estate dairy conversions. "It was such an exciting role converting land from forestry to dairy farms. It was fast paced and I was part of an awesome team." While there Hannah started looking after one of the dairy support properties and got involved in a couple of development projects on Landcorp drystock farms.
In October she started her current role as a Regional Business Manager. "I love the time spent on farm with the teams and developing skill sets and seeing the progress. I get a huge kick out of the days on farm talking about the future of each property and each team and I always come away energised from those days."
There is a certain kick some people get from being out on the land and we know the feeling so well. It is so satisfying to see how you can help those in the primary industries make the most out of their businesses. Great work Hannah!
