Growing up on a high country station in Marlborough was a pretty magical childhood for Anna Bailey. She remembers there was no option but to get up early with all of the farm crew and head out to do what ever task there was to do for the day. Often staying out at one of the generator powered farm huts for days or weeks at a time, Anna describes it as the most amazing playground! From blowing up a swimming hole in the nearby creek in summer, to hunting possums and rabbits.

"I hope that all the women who are apart of this page know that they are making such a difference to improving agriculture world wide and I feel extremely proud to be able to share the stories of such incredible, hard working people."

Having always had family ties with the rural sector, Anna always assumed she would have a role to play. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Science at Massey University in Palmerston North. Finding work in the Public Health sector and later retraining as a primary school teacher. It wasn't until Anna went on maternity leave that an opportunity arose to explore working within the primary industries.

Anna now is largely involved in the administration of a social media consultancy company Grass Roots Media who focus on businesses in the primary industries. Not only does she dedicate her time to improve the social presence of many businesses in the industry but she also is amongst others the back bone project manager of our very own AgWomen Global. Anna gathers the stories, edits and publishes the majority of the content on this page, making sure they go across all platforms.

She went from being a busy school teacher to working part time and from home, in a job which allows her to be a part of a industry that she loves whilst being able to spend quality time with her family. Anna feels at home working amongst others in the industry which she grew up in and feels incredibly lucky to be able to dedicate her time to telling the stories of the primary industries. "I hope that all the women who are apart of this page know that they are making such a difference to improving agriculture world wide and I feel extremely proud to be able to share the stories of such incredible, hard working people."

Anna, we don't know what we would do without you! You are such a key part to the running of our page and we thank you for all your hard work in making AgWomen Global such a success. Working alongside you as we share such amazing stories of different women in the industry has been such an eye opener as we get to see just how important everyones input is in the primary industries.
