Emma Benjamin maybe in the early years of her career but what this 21 year old lacks in years she has in enthusiasm and passion. This outgoing Australian currently works part time in the livestock administration department at Hourn & Bishop in Central Queensland, a position she has held since October 2017. Emma considers herself privileged to be part of a company who has made a reputable name in selling rural properties and livestock for the people of Moura and surrounding districts.
With an overwhelming love for livestock its no wonder Emma's life has revolved around cattle, horses and small animals alike as she grew up in Mount Morgan.
She is involved with everything from invoicing clients to tag transfers. Emma also assists with the emailing of reports & completing bookings for clients. The company is the link between where cattle start & finish their trading journey and Emma is very much part of the process. Being involved with the responsibility for what happens between the two parties during trading agreements is a daunting but at same time rewarding task that’s Emma says she learns a lot from.
With her love of livestock and horses she has always held jobs linked to the two. Prior to her current position she worked at Central Queensland Livestock which ranks as one of the major selling complex’s in the country. There she would work in the admin three days a week and had the privilege of spending the remainder of the week on horse back moving cattle around the sale yards.
“I’m very passionate about Livestock hence why I love this job, you wouldn’t get me in an office if it didn’t involve livestock.”
The days Emma not working at Hourn and Bishop you will find her riding her horses on the families property at Goovigen and spending time with her loved daschunds.
Like a true Australian Emma’s main hobbies include barrel racing and the occasional campdraft a great way to get out and meet like minded people and spend time with her horses and family.
Being an agwoman Emma says makes her feel blessed. We believe you are making great impacts and growth in your career and are one to watch going forward. Keep working your way up the ladder cowgirl and following your passion
