Gretchen is a Wife, Mother, Step-Mum and Managing Director of AgRecord - a Farm Management Software company with a product called Cloud Farmer. Along with husband Leyton, they farm a 1066Ha dry stock farm at Porangahau, in Central Hawkes Bay. In the last year they've taken on new staff and investors in AgRecord, just completed massive house renovations, had a 5-week premature baby, designed their own app and started a website!

After secondary school Gretchen ventured South to become a shepherd on a high country station up the Rakaia Gorge. "I think my mother cried when she saw my Shepherd's living quarters - but I loved it. I even featured in a PGG Wrightsons calendar as Miss December!"

After that Gretchen travelled overseas and became a meat trader for National Meats UK. On her return to New Zealand she worked within Agricultural recruitment before turning her hand at setting up a couple of businesses.

"I purchased AgRecord in August 2013. It's a cloud based software solution for capturing, storing and sharing your day to day, operational information."

In June 2014, AgRecord launched their next generation web application, Cloud Farmer, which is designed as a central hub for sharing of information between staff and management. The company had been operating for 18 months prior to purchase. They are the only provider in New Zealand and internationally, that specialise in on-farm communication between staff and management.

Gretchen has big goals for the company with her sites firmly set on developing the business into a major global player, not just in the sheep and beef sector, but across all Primary Industries including dairy, cropping and viticulture.

We love your passion an drive Gretchen! You have a huge amount of vision and will surely have a positive impact on the future of the primary industries.
