Each day you will find PGG Wrightson Ltd customer service representative Lauran Bungard making the commute from Gore to Lumsden to share her enthusiasm and agriculture knowledge to clients whom visit the Lumsden store.
A courageous woman who says being an AgWoman feels unique but in a great way. Lauran lives with her husband Dylan who works on a sheep and beef farm north of Riversdale and does casual farm work. Lauran spends her week days working from Lumsden's PGG Wrightson store where she provides farmers with the tools to do the best they can within their production unit on a daily basis. And weekends competing on her horse at local shows and events or hacking out.
She sees herself as a face for her local PGW store. With a true passion and rural upbringing she greets each client with a smile and is truely interested in each individual client and what they are trying to achieve. Lauran believes it’s is definitely important to get to know her clients to hold lasting relationships and build trust. When you enter the Lumsden store you can’t help but exchange a smile back to this ambitious and outgoing agwoman.
Lauran grew up surrounded by farming and horses (another great passion she holds close) on a sheep and beef farm in Southland. Her first real memory of farm work was working in the neighbours yards, keeping sheep moving up the race. She showed real passion from the beginning and by the end of the day had worn holes in the bottom of her gummies from going up and down the race so much. “I guess farming has been drummed into me from a young age. The older I get, the more I appreciate that”
2017 was a massive year for Lauran. She got married and then won southland bride of the year. The happy couple then went on to become home owners before Lauran successfully completed PGG Wrightson 2017 Academy programme.
When u meet Lauran you will realise she is a pretty relaxed kind of person but also can’t sit still and always needs something to do. “I’m a great believer in ‘the more you do, the more you want to do’.”
Even though she did study toward a Bachelor of Commerce Ag at Lincoln University, she is convinced that if you do a job you love and have the right people around you, you can achieve great things.
“I thrive on customer interaction based around agriculture. Agriculture is such an unpredictable industry, which is what I love about it, along with the people. There’s something different every day, no two seasons are the same.”
Another busy rural woman making a difference to her community and those farming in it. Lauran your bubbly personality and willingness to help others is inspiring! Keep up the great work we are proud to have you part of the primary industry.
