Lisa Ecker grew up on a hobby farm with chickens, sheep, and crops in the small town of Wanamingo, Minnesota USA. It was there that Lisa developed her love and passion for agriculture. She went to college at the University of Wisconsin, UW-River Falls College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences , and studied Agricultural Engineering Technology where she learned the basics of applying engineering to the agriculture field.

"Agriculture Engineering covers all things from the equipment used in the fields, to environmental conservation methods, to food processing, and to alternative energy systems. I am currently working in the Food Processing field for Pilgrim's Pride Poultry as Process Engineer. I love what I do because I know I have the potential to make a difference. I may be young and new to the industry, but I know in my future I will be able to do some amazing things to increase agriculture efficiencies and innovation. Making a difference is what I love, and strive for!"

Lisa see's her future in either the food processing field or the alternative energy field (wind, solar, and/or biofuels) . "Both industries are crucial to the future of our world which makes them that much more appealing"!

How exciting Lisa, to know that you are making a real difference in the industry and have the potential to make some serious changes and improvements. The food industry is going to be constantly changing so we must keep up with times and evolve to find the best production methods.
